What is the best toy that kept your newborn occupied the longest?

Which toy for up to 3-4 months was the best at keeping your baby entertained? Where did you get it and about how much did it cosst?|||The best toy for us was definitely our son's Baby Einstein Discover %26amp; Play Floor Mat. He could do both tummy time and lay on his back and look up at all the toys. There was a star in the middle that lit up and played music and he would just grin at it. He played on that at least once a day from 1 week old to 5 months old! Plus it got him used to tummy time and helped him learn to grab for things too. We got it at Babies R Us for $50, but it's also at Target.

He also loved were his Aquarium Bouncer ($35 at Target), which he used from day 1 through 4 months. Some babies like swings, but our son hated his. After 4 months, his favorite toys are his Exersaucer and his Jumperoo (still going on these 2 at 7 months).|||a Musical Mobile for over their crib. Get one that is rated long lasting and has bright colors and different shapes and lots of different songs.

My nephew loved this one that is reviewed at the link:

I don't recall where I got it, but I ordered at maybe Babies R Us, I think it cost about $35.

Symphony in Motion by Tiny Love (I see the price has gone up a bit since 4 years ago, or i didn't remember correctly.|||the Baby Lamazze toys, we had a lion that had different texture and noises, I got it a Target for I think $14.99, the other best distraction was sibblings.|||My son is 15 weeks old and nothing really keeps his attention too long except when I play with him, he likes looking at my face! But a toy he likes is this baby einsten water thing. Its one of those things he lays under and it has all kinds of colorful things hanging down and it plays music. That keeps his attention for about 15-20 minutes at the MOST!|||Mine has this mat (From walmart about $10) that looks like a hippo and it has things that dangle down that she can grab at and stare at. Kind of like those gym mat things but not as big. The part you lay her head is cushioned.

She also loves her colorful butterfly that was $3 at big lots. It has places on her wings that she can chew on and her wings make that crinkly noise when you touch them and it also has a rattle. Mine is just turning 5 months and she still loves it.

I know it sounds bad but she'll watch an entire movie if I let her. If I just absolutely must get something done I'll put in a movie for her and lay her on her hippo gym and she's good through the whole thing...unless it's the Rescuers...she hates that movie.lol.|||It's not to keep them entertained; it's to allow you to get some sleep.|||Our faces kept them more entertained and they didn't cost us anything. By the way, the object that kept us most entertained - yep! the baby!|||My babies did more sleeping than playing at this young age.

I nursed my second baby, that kept him occupied him pretty good besides talking to him %26amp; he still likes to talk at 27 yo.|||Any baby gym seemed to work well with my kids when they were small. Ones with lights and sound tend to keep them occupied a little longer. Bright, colorful kinds with a variety of shapes can entertain a baby for a longer time too. Usually at 3-4 months babies don't do a lot of "play" activities, but some things work better than others. Most stores (like Wal-mart) carry some type of baby gym or another in the $20-$30 price range.|||They never stay entertained too long with just one toy. A real person is the best toy.|||The fisher price baby swing that swivels either front to back in rocking or from side to side, it has mobile fish, music, wave sounds, wind sounds, and lights. IT kept her very entertained and if put to bed in it at night she would sleep nine hours t hrough at 10 weeks old. It was 160 bucks. ALso the fisher price mobile in her crib it was unknown pricing because it was gift but it had the same fish a light show that would go on the roof in the dark and music. Excellent would entertain her in there for half an hour of awakeness at times and it would put her to sleep.

The last thing is not a toy its a pacifier and the best thing to entertain my child and keep her calm and it is avent soothers 6.99 for two.
