How do you propel a toy train using a chemical reaction?

What chemical reactants would you use to propel a toy train on a wooden track for a distance of 1 meter. What apparatus would be involved?|||as long as the train is light enough just use baking soda and vinagar as for the assembly pour water in a bottle with baking soda and poke a small hole in the top but if you want it to be a one step process fill the bottle with baking soda then get a syringe full of water and stab it through the cap when you want it to start the reaction is

NaHCO3 + HC2H3O2 ---%26gt; NaC2H3O2 + H2O + CO2

How can I remove a toy car from my toilet pipes?

I have a 2 year-old locksmith who is completely fascinated by the workings of our toilet. This is the fourth time he has done this and we can't keep the kid behind a locked, childproofed door.Maintenance refused to help this time. I've snaked 3 pair of panties, half our toiletries, and 2 toy cars (approx. 3"x 2") My assumption is this is what is behind the problem. They are plastic, so I'm hoping a solvent may be used without harming the plumbing please help!|||I feel for you, mobby dick ended up in ours. Finally my husband gave up after days of everything you did and more. He ended up taking the toilet out and he still gets angry when he thinks of it. We found mobby stuck in there after taking it out into the yard and pulling it out with a home made tool he made to pull it out.My husband is a fabricator. Anyway, something just will not come out and there doesn't seem to be anything that will break it down. So you may want to think about pulling it out , but make sure you have a wax seal to replace the one you will break taking it out. Good luck.|||Solvents should not be put in the commode or any septic system, nor should any drain cleaner be put in a commode. The drain cleaner can actually crack the commode due to the heat produced. The toy is probably stuck in the bend (trap) of the commode. Even if you remove the commode to look for the toy sometimes they can't be seen to be removed. Sounds like some discipline is in order as these mishaps can get expensive.|||Robert, If the toy actually got flushed down the toilet and it's not stuck in the toilet itself, there is nothing you are going to be able to do unless, it ends up causing a blockage in the sewer line in which case, the line will have to be snaked. Good luck

How do I get my stubborn dog to bring me back his toy after I throw it?

Every time I throw the toy, he gets it and I have to chase him to get it. I say bring it here and he just runs away again. I really need help, so if you have any Answers I'd be happy.|||The easiest ways are to

a) have a treat waiting at the other end or another toy which you can swap with the one he has or

b) put him on a lead and run him up to the toy, get him to pick it up, then run backwards calling his name and make him come right up to you and sit.

Some dogs really prefer the chase game to the whole fetch and return game! In a way he's trained you to play the game his way. And yep, I've been there too!!|||give him a treat he loves, when he brings it back... worked with my dogs|||zzzzzzzzzzzz|||Tie a string to it! That way you can pull it back to you and try it again. Not to brag, but if I can teach a cat to fetch, you most certainly can teach your dog!! Have patience and just enjoy the time spent with him/her!!|||You have now taught him that the "chasing" him is the fun part. Sit quietly with te treat %26amp; he'll come to you.|||have a treat ready for him|||I like dogs... ok now on the topic. get treats and when u throw the toy, hold the little treat in ur hand and when he/she comes, give it to him/her then gentaly give him/her a snuggle.

How do I get my toy poodle to stop peeing on the floor in the house?

We have a 4 year old toy poodle thats totally healthy. We got him about a month and a half ago and he constantly pees all over the house ! We take him out regularly but it still happens. He has a kennnel but he doesnt pee in there unfortunately.|||The best thing a dog owner can do is buy 3 books one

1) on vet med

2) on training

3) on the breed you have

This is your best help.

You will get a lot of wrong answers here-but some are good|||put mouse traps in his favorite spots to pee in the house. He will be begging you to go outside.|||Is he peeing in the house, or is he marking the house?

Is he neutered? You should take him in and get him checked for an infection, it's possible that he just can't hold it.

If he is marking the house, then you need to clean the spots very well, and correct him when he goes to lift his leg. You can tell when they are going to do it if you watch closely and tell him NO when he starts and put him outside.|||Around 10 minutes after he eats and/or drinks, take him outside and play with him. Runnung around will make him have to go to the bathroom. If you do this daily, he will get used to it and it will make it much easier for you. Hope this helps!!!|||dogs are NOT supposed to pee in their crates.. so that is good,,,he needs to be housebroken,,, search Yahoo answers ,,, housebreaking has been covered a least a thousand times.

Is it possible to train a chicken or rooster to play a toy piano?

I just caught an early episode of "The Golden Girls," and Rose (Betty White) had a rooster that played "Old McDonald had a farm" on a little toy piano.

Does anyone know how a chicken (or rooster) can be taught to play a piano?|||CGI is a wonderful thing|||on " The golden Girls" they have a way of making it seem that it is lplayin the piano. no it is not possible, sorry.|||My opinion is someone was really bored. I believe there was seed on the keys making the bird peck.

This may have been a rescue bird ( I hope) I hope they did not take this chicken out of its natural enviroment to train it to spend its life entertaining people. If they starved the chicken then gave it a piano with seeds on it, I am sure it would have pecked anything. So would you or I if we were hungry enough.

Some birds are easily trained to talk or sing. Chickens are not one of those birds.|||if its possible that u can ask such question y ant those chickens and roosters play a toy piano but on one condition u hav to teach them|||impossible is nothing :)|||The answer is YES. Birds are not as stupid as people think. You should look into the research of famous behaviorist psychologist B.F. Skinner and the birds he taught. In fact most animals are taught by positive reinforcement such as described in Skinner's research. So for all you people who said that chickens CANT be trained, stick to what you know, because you sure dont know about chickens. ;) On a side note Roosters may be more difficult to train as they are very independent and protective of Hens. A rooster will often stand guard and let his hens eat first before he himself will eat. How many guys you know who do that? ;)|||That is how it is done. you can't see it but a piece of corn or something the cock likes is deposited on each note by a cam and crank. motor these days. The bird brain just eats the tidbit.

Yes I have seen this and many other things.|||Yes it can be done. Knott's Berry Farm amusment park used to have severa. You put in a quarter a light bulb came on to cue thew chicken and it played the tune. When it was done it was given feed. They are trained one note at a time. They learn a note , get a seed. Gradually the have to play all the notes to get fed.

I believe Knotts quit having them because some people thought the chickens were exploited. I don't see anything wrong with traing the birds, I don't see how it was cruel at all. Besides playing piano is better than fried.|||You've no "clucking chance" :)

More chance of it whistling Dixie :)|||You won't be able to get it to play anything tuneful, but given some encouragement, you might be able to get it to peck.

I found this - a chicken pecking on command

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-HhHVu3I鈥?/a>|||Yep - get a little old lady farmer who has raised chickens for eggs all her life. They can teach a chicken anything.|||u cud put seed on the piano and the bird might peck it and play a note

How many baby teeth do toy poodles lose?

My tiny toy poodle is 5 months old and I found her playing with one of her teeth that fell out! How many do they usually lose and how do you make sure they won't choke on them?|||They lose all of them. Most they simply swallow. It's perfectly okay, nothing to worry about.|||Puppies normally start to loose their baby teeth at 4-6 months. If they don't fall out and the adult teeth starts to grow, it could grow in crooked. Also they'll start to get bad breath if the baby teeth are left in too long. As the body will cut off nutrients to the baby teeth (to focus on the perminant teeth) and the baby teeth will start to decay.

One of my dogs had one baby teeth left at 1 year old, it started to decay and finally broke off on it own the week before his appointment to have it removed.|||Well, they should lose all of them (helpful, I know lol),

But they usually swallow them, so don't be too worried. If you find them, pick them up, but otherwise, don't worry about it.|||they will lose all their baby teeth, it's a natural occurrence and even if they swallow them they will go through..................|||What a stupid question!

How do I go about getting a prototype created for an electonic toy idea?

I have an idea for an electronic toy. I would like to create a prototype -- it would involve basic circuitry design / programming, LCD screen, etc. Where do I begin?|||If you want someone else to build it, you could probably hire an engineering consultant to do it. It'd take some internet searching and phone calls to find the right kind of engineer, and then you'd probably be talking about a 80 to 240 hour project at $50 per hour (in the US), plus materials. You might be able to find an engineer internationally (e.g. in India) on the internet to do it much cheaper.

A cheaper but riskier/slower alternative would be to find a hobbyist to build it, by posting on an online electronics hobbyist forum, etc.

The comment that you have to build it before you can patent it is absolutely incorrect. The requirement for a 'reduction to practice' in a patent can be fulfilled by merely describing in words how to build one, to a level of detail sufficient that someone skilled in the field could build it based on your description. Your patent could then use phrases like, "use a microcontroller to display messages on a LCD screeen", etc. You can file a provisional patent at very little cost as a placeholder for 18 months until you determine if it's worth the expense of a full patent.|||Thank you billc1121 for that information.

|||You have to create a working model before you can patent it! But my suggestion is to take it to someone you can trust, preferably in electronics. Make sure they can keep their mouths shut, and they can create a working prototype. Then file a patent quickly.|||get a patent on the idea, then talk to an engineer...electronics..|||I would suggest drawing out circuit diagrams (there are some good free cad programs on the net you should use) and breadboarding everything to test. If you have no clue how to build the circuits, then start looking at other peoples designs and find some good books. It really depends on how complicated everything is and how much time you want to put into your idea.

How do you hook eye toy up to computer to use as webcam?

I want to use my Eye Toy as a webcam but not sure how?Does anyone know how,I need good instructions because I am not that great with computers.|||put it in the USB slot (the rectangular one usually at the back of your computer, not the monitor, it should be at the back of the mother board. How does those pull back toy cars work?

Anyone know how those pull back toy cars work? Those cars that you pull back and when u release it it goes. Ihave one and i cant open it to see how it works.

And there are also some that starts moving slow after you pull back and release and soon enough, it moves faster. Anyone knows how those work too?

Thanks.|||When this toy car is pulled back a few inches, it travels right across

the room. The energy must be stored quickly but released slowly. This

is achieved using two different gear trains in the same tiny gearbox -

when pulled back, the spring tightens fifteen times faster than when

it unwinds. The innovation lies in two floating gears - the axes of

gears 2 and 4 move along two slots in the gearcage depending on the

tangential forces acting on them. Explore the details of this

ingenuous mechanism.

What are your experiences with toy cameras?

My cousin told me she's getting me a toy camera for my birthday. Are they fun? What are the pictures like?|||look up Holga photos. Or Lomography photos. Diana photos. Those are toy cameras.

What is a good interacting toy for my rabbit?

My rabbit is a year old. He seems bored alot. I give cardboard boxes and he will chew at it, but only for like 10 minutes. And I bought a tube for him, but he rarely uses it. I don't want to spend alot of money. He hops around and explores, but i don't think that is fun. And he lays around alot. So i need help as to what toy i should get him. And I don't have money right to spend.|||I honestly think that he is lonely - have you considered getting him a playmate?

Rabbits love having a fellow companion, and bored rabbits benefit massively from having another rabbit to cuddle, groom and play with. If you can save up the money you will need to go to the vet and get both of the rabbits spayed/neutered (even if you get a male-male pairing they will fight). Male/female pairings are the easiest to bond, just make sure that they are both spayed and neutered. Fixing your rabbits does cost quite a lot so you will have to save up for the procedure, however it will be worth it in the long run since you won't be spending as much on toys.

If you go to your local rescue shelter you can have a look at female rabbits who will already be spayed (saving you money on one operation) and sometimes the animal shelters will bond the rabbits for you.|||I have a rabbit about 8 months old now and he loves the small toy i have given him. It costs $1 so its super cheap and it is just a bell in a caged ball that he picks up and throws around his cage only about 4 cm wide both ways but it can be interactive if you throw it to the rabbit, they will most likely chuck it back at you.

Hope this helps:)

How do I stop my toy poodle from taking the stuff out of my plants and the bulb off the tree . What's wrong?

MY Toy poodle is starting tom pull the stuff out of my plants and the he pulled a Christmas bulb off the tree. Why is he being so beligerate? I take care of him well!!!|||He's just being a dog. Just make sure there are no poisonous or dangerous items around, and give him plenty of toys.|||you cant hes a pupp they do what they want, they dont understand, but try smacking it gently every time he goes near it he will lern not to|||You may want to try a sure favorite if the Dog Whisperer.

Put the leash on your dog - and walk him over to the tree. When he goes for something - yank him away, and say no.

Repeat.

The dog will get the idea...

then make sure to give the dog lots of love.|||I would not recomend smacking your dog. But everytime he does something you dont like, tell the dog firmly "no" or "bad dog" and squirt him with a spray bottle. If your dog doesnt like water it wont take too many times before he stops. You could then put him in his cage or outside to show him that its bad and you arnt happy. Also try positive reinforcement, when he plays with something you approve of or goes by the plant and does nothing praise him.

He will get it soon enough, just be persistant and dont ever let him tear up the plant and do nothing about it. He will think its ok sometimes and not ok other times.|||I have a gate around my tree! My dog actually ate one of the lights off the pre lit tree....So I put a gate up and now he can't get to it!|||I would not recommend ever smacking a dog either, no matter how lightly. This will cause them to dislike you and could result in even more inappropriate behaviors. Also would not recommend jerking it on a leash. You could hurt it's neck. It seems like he is just trying to play. When he does play with something appropriate, be sure to praise him a lot and give treats. Tell him no very loudly and clap your hands when he is doing something you don't want him to. The loud clap will interrupt his undesirable behavior.|||Most dogs get destructive if they don't have enough mental stimulation. They are like kids in that they have a short attention span but love to play, chew and get into all the things there not suppose to. Find ways of keeping him occupied and if he still persists rep remand him with your voice (don't shout deepen your voice and make it firm). If a dog cares about what you think he will do all in his power to earn your praise. Dogs will seek attention, like kids they will do good or bad things if that's what gains them your attention.

What do you do if your dog eats a squeaker from a toy?

What do you do if your dog eats a squeaker from a toy? HELP my dog just ate one and i dont know what to do!|||Avoid rubbing the tummy...SQUEAK,SQUEAK,SQUEAK!!|||I would watch the dog for any unusual behavior. Go out with your dog when it is time to do business outside. If his schedule seems to be off in any way, I would take him to the vet just to be sure everything is ok. If he is pooping and urinating as normal, I would just check to see if the squeaker comes out. If he hadn't passed it the first day I would take my dog in for x-rays.|||Call the vet.

Watch him VERY carefully for any digestive changes.

I had a dog who became ill, we couldn't figure out what the issue was, but he had recurring diarrhea and occassional vomiting or lack of interest in food. We kept taking him in to the vet, did x-rays and nothing showed up... and eventually did exploratory surgery and found 2 squeakers. Apparently they would turn in his intestine and allow some food/waste through.. then turn again and not allow anything past. His digestive tract has never been the same. $2500 surgery.

Good luck!|||what breed is your dog and how big is he. Quite rightly if he is a big dog just keep an eye on his poop and it should pass, if after 2 days you do not see it then take a trip to the vets. It is possible it can get obstructed. Keep an eye on your dog in the meantime, look for signs he is unwell.

For future reference, toys get confused with chews ok, toys are meant to be played with under supervision, thrown and rolled about etc in a game you play with your dog. Toys , most of them are never meant to be chews and should not be left with your dog unsupervised, Get your dog a rawhide chew or something similar that you can leave him unsupervised with to chew on. A chew is a chew and a toy is a toy.|||Watch him for at least the next day or few. If it gets stuck in his intestines it will be really bad, and he can die in a few days if you don't take him to the vet straight away to be put on a drip and have it removed. Watch for unusual behaviour and vomiting. I take the squeakers out of my dog's toys, they seem such a stupidly dangerous thing to put in something that is made to be ripped apart by a dog.|||Squeak his belly! He should be fine, dogs eat strange things all the time. Just call your local vet and they will tell you if you need to bring him in or not.|||take him to the vet i think a squeaker would be hard to crap out depending on the size of the dog

lol|||If your dog is a large breed, just watch his bm's it should come out in a day or two. If you dog is small or it hasn't come out after a day or two take him to the vet. Also no more squeaky toys for you.

How to ensure seat in toy train from Mettuplayam to Ooty and back?

By Train Train Timing at Coimbatore Train Timing at Mettupalayam

Nearest broad gauge railway head is Mettupalayam (46 kms). Major broadgauge railway junction is Coimbatore. It is connected with all major cities. Mettupalayam to Ooty, is connected by a Mountain Railway which is 4 hours journey.

At a height of 2,600m stands Udhagamandalam (Ooty) the Queen of Hill Stations. The 'Nilgiri toy train' connects Ooty to Mettupalayam, at the foot of the Nilgiris.

The construction of this line was a big challenge as the terrain is rather tricky. It was in 1854 that the first plans were drawn to build a mountain railway from Mettupalayam to the Nilgiri Hills. But it was a good 45 years later in 1899 that the first train chuggd up this track. This itself is a charming blue and cream with wooden coaches and large windows. It is hauled uphill by steam engines, designed and built by the Swiss Locomotive Works. Twelve of such locomotive engines survive even today.

The train covers the 46 km to Udhagamandalam in four - and -a half hours. There are five stations between Mettupalayam and Coonoor - Kallar, Adderely, Hill Grove, Runnymede and Kateri - and, at one time, there were five between Coonoor and Ooty too. Though Wellington, Aruvakkadu, Ketti, and Lovedale are still functional, Fern Hill, the last one, was closed down a few years ago.

Extensive rice fields surround the 7km stretch between Mettupalayam and Kallar. Soon after is an impressive 21 km section through truly rocky terrain. The track passes over 26 viaducts, and twists and bends through 13 tunnels. After a steep climb, the train enters Coonoor, the little hill station known for its tea plantations. From here, the track is uphill till you reach Fern Hill at a height of 2,218m, the highest point on the railroad. Shortly before Ooty, the line dips downhill. If you enjoy taking pictures, keep your camera ready for a few shots of the viaduct between Kallar and Adderley.

This ride is sure to turn the most hardened rail critic into an avid fan. You'll delight in the edge - if -the - seat twists and turns as the train runs across tall girder bridges, and over green hills before gently meandering through rolling tea estates. The exhaust beat of the loco never falters, maintaining a deafening staccato which can be heard for miles around. Truly a journey to remember.

By Road Road Distance from Ooty

Ooty is well connected by good roads. It is 535 km from Chennai (via Salem), 89 km from Coimbatore, 18 km from Coonoor (via Gudalur), 155 km from Mysore, 187 km from Calicut, 290 km from Bangalore, 281 km from Kochi (via Coimbatore and Palakkad), 236 km from Kodaikanal (via Coimbatore and Palani)|||HI

The Answer to your question is yes and no

yes advance booking is not required as this is a passenger train but advance booking is also not required for any train but we do to ensure a seat and comfortable journey as

What is the best toy kitchen to purchase for a 1-year old girl?

My daughter used to like to play with a toy kitchen that was at her daycare when she was attending daycare a couple of months ago. I would like to buy her a toy kitchen to play with at home. However, most of the toy kitchens I have seen by Fisher Price or other manufacturers have a recommended age of 2 years or older and she just recently turned 1.|||I think the Dora the Explorer kitchen would be great. My daughter is 3 and has that, but I also have a younger son and it doesn't have any small pieces.|||Thank you everyone for all of your great answers! I feel more comfortable about deciding which kitchen to buy for my daughter now.

|||eh dont overthink it...its just a reccomendation. She'll be fine, im sure she will enjoy anything. Consider removing small parts until she gets a bit older.|||I would think the dora the explorer kitchen would be good for a younger toddler. I think that playschool has a mini kitchen set designed for toddlers, Its small though. they have to sit on the floor to use it.|||I got one. It's a small unit maybe 2ft x 3ft and is for 12 mos + Let me see if I can find out the name of it.........Ok, sorry it's little tikes. I bought it at babies R us about a year and a half ago. It has a shape sorter in the fridge part and some play food and sink and stove sounds|||My daughter has the little tikes tender heart kitchen set. We got it for her when she was a year old, and the actual accessories that come with the kitchen are not small at all. When she got older, we then purchased a HUGE food set/accessory set. I love this kitchen set because it's round and fits very nicely into a corner, and it was only around $50. I know I purchased it from walmart.com, but its no longer on the site. My daughter is 3 now and it is still one of her favorite toys!!!!!!!!!|||A kitchen|||the best kitchen is the real kitchen. she can play in there with you and actually learn real things as she's going along, plus have time with you. you can even designate a low cabinet with all her equipment. imitations of life pale in comparison to the real thing.|||The only reason I would think that my daughters' (she is 2.5 now) fisher price kitchen wouldn't be ok for your daughter is because she may not be tall enough.

There is a little tykes kitchen set, I have enclosed the link, that is pretty amazing, this was my daughters first kitchen set, she got for her 1st birthday Recommended 6 to 36 months.

Second link is a "grow with me" kitchen set that is shorter also. Recommended for 1 1/2 to 5

I hope these help|||I like the ones from Pottery Barn, they're wooden, so they're really sturdy and will last a long time. My daughter was never interested in the plastic ones, but whenever we would go to a Pottery Barn Kids, she would and could play with the wooden kitchens they have there for hours. You can tether them to the wall so you don't have to worry about them falling on your daughter.

I personally like the red retro set because it's good for both boys and girls.

Does your Golden Retriever like to shake a toy violently back and forth?

My GR's favorite toy is a pull toy. Every so often she will pick it up and violently shake it back and forth. What I'm thinking is that it is instinctual behavior, like she was retrieving a game bird and dealing the coup de grace death blow.|||Maybe the death blow or maybe just living for the moment %26amp;

having the time of its life!|||yeah most dogs do that|||my golden retreiver X poodle does that !

hell chase after his toy then shake it in his mouth back and fouth (side to side) really fast then drop it and keep biting it|||It is a normal dog function. All dogs do it.|||..its fine...shes a playful dog. My lab does crap like that. do you notice that whn your dog gets mad, she finds a way to destroy something?lol..mine does|||I've seen that in many dogs, not just Golden Retrievers. My friend's German Shepherd/Collie mix does that with like every toy.|||I dont have a Golden Retriever.....

but My Labrador Retriever does that and usually ends up smacking me in the head with it. She also has a powefull otter-like tail for swimming. I have just one thing to say about that: OWW!!!!|||That's definitely a dog thing and not unique to any breed. My little chihuahuas do the same thing and "yes" I believe it is to make sure whatever they have is very dead.|||yeah most dogs do that..

i dont have a GR (yet! =] ) but my bichon does that|||All dogs do that, but in my personal experience the ones that seem to do it the most are the terriers. Good way to kill those rats.

This behavior has nothing to do with the retrieving instinct. Actually a good bird dog should be so gentle with the bird that there will be no puncture marks from the teeth or no broken bones from being held in the jaws. My hunting dogs (spaniels) love to shake their tug toys to death, but when it comes to working the field or carrying their toys or whatever they find on the floor in they have the softest and most gentle jaws.|||This is a very normal thing for a dog to do. With my dog, he always did this. Dogs do this because dogs are from wolves, so they still have what it takes to be a wolf. Wolves shake their food back and forth violently to tear their piece of meat apart so that they can eat it. So don't worry, this is not irregular.

How to tell if a toy poodle is a purebred?

I'm looking into buying a toy poodle off of someone who says he is purebred but has no papers. How do you tell if the dog is purebred before spending the money?|||It is probably a scam, dont do it|||Look at both parents. And trust the breeder. If you don't, don't buy. Even papers mean nothing if someone lies. I can have 5 Chihuahuas you will not Know which male fathered the litter. Or if a dog jumped the fence for that matter. It's like a "reputable car lot". Buyer Beware!|||Don't Buy without research and studying the Breed and the Breeder. You can go to Pets Mart or Pet co and get a book on Poodles and it will tell you all you need to know. Also I would want to see both Parents and siblings.I would want to see where they were raised as well .Be sure it has had at least 1 -2 shots and been wormed 1 Xper week along with mom and other pups.Make sure the pup is eating well and it should be at least 7-8 weeks old before leaving home. If it is too good to be true it is probally Not so Good.Be informed or be sorry. Good Luck!!!!!|||There's no good reason for a dog not to have papers if it's a purebred. It only costs something like $20 for the breeder to register the entire litter, so don't let them tell you it was too expensive or something like that.|||Poodles always have alot of hair in their ears, check that. Do you know anyone who has bought puppies from this person? If they are purebred he can register them with Continental Kennal Club with no problem 1-800-952-3376. I can't understand why he doesn't have them registered at all. A purebred poodle will also have curly hair all the way to the skin. I'd be afraid to buy 1 since I am a Yorkie breeder I would need to see the parents and the puppy before I would buy 1. People always want to see the parents. If you live near Nashville, TN I can hook you up with 2 poodle breeders that have registered dogs.|||Don't buy the dog if you want a purebred dog with no papers. Even dogs registered with ACA and sometimes UKC (sorry for anyone who does register their purebred dogs with those organizations) may not be purebred. Go to akc.org and look up breeders in your area. Ask them about any older dogs they may have that they no long want to see if you can get a discount. Most times breeders have a handful of dogs they don't want anymore, but cant find good homes for.

And they only way I can tell if it is a purebred poodle is a shaved face showing the chizled cheek bones of the poodle. but that is not always a good rule either. Most backyard breeders produce for the hell of it, just to make money, not to maintain the original look and appeal of the breed. I do not know where you live, but I show poodles and am contact with many out standing breeders on the east coast of the US and can email me privately at websurfers2@comcast.net.|||Ask what agency/organization the dog is registered under. The owner should be able to request a duplicate of the pedigree. On the other hand, if you really like the dog what does it matter if it is purebred?|||With out he papers you will never know...sometimes with papers you never know. I wouldn't pay for a dog with out papers. I was on a business trip once in NC. I ended up buying my Shih Tzu there.. I had the papers I seen both parents..I did all I was suppose to do . When my little baby grew up I look down at him and said baby you may be a Shih Tzu but something else got in there somewhere lol. So I got him neuter and love him just the same. So even then you can't be sure. But don't be spending a lot of money for a non paper puppy. But if you see the puppy and like the puppy by all means buy him..Papers don't make the puppy the puppy makes the puppy. Just like my little Shih and what ever lol.|||Unless you're able to see both parents, on site, then continue looking.|||To be honest you can't not unless the person has both parents and they are registered.

If the person is asking a fair bit , walk away, you have no idea where the dog came from eg puppymill whether is has genetic problems etc. If it had came from a very good quality breeder than they have no rights to resell the dog. So this alone suggests an irresponsibly bred puppy.

You would be better off looking for one placed through a rescue eg petfinder.com

If you want a purebred go to a reputable breeder who does health screening, it can save you a lot of potential grief.

I made the mistake of doing what you are considering, the dog happened to have rage syndrome because it occurs sporadically, I had no idea the dog had, nor did the person who was selling tell me, they did charged quite a bit even though not papered, I had recently lost another due to a longterm illness and was a bit short on cash after all the vet costs and wanted another dog to fill the void left by his passing. so I bopught this dog and within a year after several attacks and bites and vet confirming what was wrong I end having to put him down as well. It was a very painful lesson for me

The problem is you have no idea why the person is getting rid of, they may say it simply because they have no time for on hopes of recovering some of the money they spent on the dog, but it could be a problem with temperament, a genetic problem like legge calve perthes or patella problems that the owner cannot afford to treat, if you buy the dog the burden of dealing with problems then falls on you. People that simply want get rid of a dog tends to charge far less then someone who is looking to recover their money when they find a dog that they purchased has some kind of problems, it is just something I have noted as a result if I am looking for and adult dog I prefer to go thru rescues now, if they are aware of a health problem they are mostly honest about letting an adopter know as it helps to be able to ensure the dog does get a successfull placement. I have adopted special needs dogs by knowing what is wrong with the dog I can determined whether I have the skills and or finances to be to properly care for the dog.

When I am looking for a purebred puppy, I choose the breeder checking first what health problems are common in the breed and finding out if the breeder has been doing genetic testing prior to breeding to ensure and guarantee the health of pups they sell, thy also demand the pup back should for any reason you decide you cannot keep a pup. Guarantees alone are worthless, it only means you get purchase price back or another pup, but any money you invested in the pup is not recoverable and the majority of puppy buyers are too attached to a pup to be willing to return it and that is what many poor quality breeders count on buyers when they sell a pup.|||You can't. Mix breeds can look very similar to true poodles. If he has no papers, he can't prove anything.|||Papers are the sure thing for insuring the dog is infact a purebred dog.

It is very difficult to detect by looking at the dog.

Purebred female toy puppies $2,000.00 with papers.

Purebred male toy puppies $1,500.00 with papers.

Without papers, it is $500.00 less.

My suggestion would be to do some research on the internet about prices for toy poodles. There are tons of sites to help you know for sure, so you do not get ripped off, from what you actually want.

Ask to see both the mother and father of the toy puppy you want. Then you will see if they are toys themselves. Otherwise you can end up buying a full size poodle and not a toy.

Just read your second comment. A toy only weighs between 4 and 5 pds. A regular poodle is between 7 and 8pds. So, it is a regular poodle. Actually they are not that much bigger then the toys in some way.

Personally, even without the papers, if your interested in the poodle, it is still a good price. But, again, the dog is not a toy. But, hey he is a poodle...and they are expensive any which way. And they don't get bigger then 8 pds. 9 at the most.|||Please I beg of you do not buy a pup from these people they are running a scam on people. If they are trying to charge people for pups with no papers something is wrong.|||ask to see the parents. other than that ask LOTS of questions. a repetable breeder will have no problem answering all of them. someone tryin to make a buck will prob get irritated or not have answers for all of them... be sure to listen for BS

How do I teach my toy poodles to go after mice?

There are some mice in my garage. How do I teach my toy poodes to go after them. I hear that some Yorkies are good a this.|||I assume it will be hard because poodles are not bred to chase small animals.|||Are Poodles instinctively born with small prey drive? If not, then your chances are small to teach it.

Put out some traps.

Actually, Jack Russell Terriers and Dachshunds are great raters.|||umm

yorkies are terriers. Terriers are bred to be ratters.

poodles are not terriers (in fact poodles were originally bred as gun dogs) and do not always have that urge to go after rats.

Just hire an exterminator. You know your dog can get all sorts of things from mice right?

What is the best chew toy for my dog?

I just got a new puppy. He's 3 months old, going to 4, and he has chewed through my husbands plystation remote and my cell phone charger. I know its just a phase, but I need to get him something to chew on so he wont chew on cables. Anyone know of a good chew toy for dogs with this problem? If you have some idea's on how to keep a dog from chewing on things, I would like to know as well.|||Puppy Kong (it's blue and white). This is great for teething puppies. You don't want to get him anything harder than this because all his teeth are not in (don't get a black or red Kong just yet, wait a couple of months). What I do is stuff it with some yummy puppy deserts and freeze it and then let My German Shepherd go to town! He loves it! Keeps him entertained for a while too!|||Really odd shaped squeaky balls that have circles and triangles and odd things popping off them.|||Kong is a good one. They have lots of toys. I give my pups porkhide bones (they have very thin layers of hide within the bones and they are easy to digest. When my two were teething, I made sure I had these bones and I've given them pigs ears also b/c they can sink their teeth into them and pull and rip them apart. I do not suggest rawhides b/c they are not good with the digestive system. Then of course some rubbery/plastic toys are good too. I read my labels and stay away from things that are made in China. I know, it's very difficult!!|||Try a couple of different toys. Rubber, and rope toys are good, but try to avoid fur ones with stuffing or squeakers just in case the dog tears the toy open. Eating those can lead to a hefty vet bill. Your dog will usually pick a favorite, so just make sure he has access to his toys at all times, and try to keep shoes and other objects he would chew out of reach.|||Super durable rubber toys such as Nylabone庐 and Kong庐 brands are safe, durable and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Any ideas on how to make a dog toy made from old socks?

I have a bunch of old socks and i was wondering if anyone had a good idea for how to make dog toys or toy from them. Should I tie a bunch together like a rope? Any ideas?|||My brother look a tennis ball, put it in a sock, and tied it up. Or just stick a bunch of other socks in one sock.|||I too, used to tie socks together for my dogs to pull and rip apart. Haven't done it since becoming a vet tech though. I've worked at an emergency clinic for 10 years and the number of dogs i've seen with foreign body socks is ridiculous!! I wouldn't use them unless you're prepared to pay for surgery in the event of accidental ingestion.|||take 2 tube socks and some tennis balls or the dogs favorite treats. put one ball (or treats) in each sock and tie the ends together.

WARNING! be vary careful not to use string or anything that the dog can choke on. if they swallow string it can get caught in the tummy or intestines and cause the dog to die. i have heard of this happening, and i would never want it to happen if it could have been prevented!

Good luck with the toys :)|||I too have heard some horror stories about dogs eating socks. So I'm not sure I would suggest offering them up as a dog toy, but then again, who is to say your dog won't get themselves into so other thing that can harm them. I stick with any of the Kong brand dog toys. I think they are so nondestructive and dogs of all ages and breeds love them! They loved it.

How do you manage your dog's toy and bone?

My house look like a war zone. Impossible to change room without tripping on a dog toy or bone. I keep his toys in a basket he can reach and he picks what he wants. I am sure this is not the way to do it!|||Yeah, a basket is pretty much the only solution that i could think of. It's not the best thing though because of course they have to take every single one out every time you put them away. Lol. You can just keep a few toys out and one or two bones and wait until they are gone to give your dog more. Try teaching it to put it's toys back. If it's a puppy it shouldn't be too hard. I've tried doing this with my 5 year old dog though and it didn't work very well. lol|||I have a basket (like you!) in the family room which houses all their toys. My dogs go in and take whatever toys they want from the basket throughout the day. I did teach them to put their toys back. My Saint will carry her toys and drop them directly outside the basket, but that is good enough for me. My Newfie will drop her toys back into the basket. I started to teach them this when they were just little pups, now all I have to say is "clean up" and they will put their toys away. Friends and family get big kicks out of the ordeal :)|||I've given up. I've tried keeping all of the toys in a basket, but that has just resulted in my dogs taking out all of the toys and leaving an empty basket in the middle of my floor. Oh, dogs....gotta love em!|||Hehe, my poodle has the same issue except for balls. We bought her a big container of 50 balls and for awhile left it on the floor until she realized that she could tip it over and have all the balls she wanted.

Now we just keep the container out of reach and change out the colors occasionally, we'll pull it down every few days and let her pick out a new one to play with, and she loves it. Although all the balls are the same just a change of color makes her giddy.

Maybe try putting them away and exchanging toys every couple of days, that way they are always new and exciting.

How can i get toy stores to donate toys for a project im doing?

me and a friend are filling shoe boxes with toys and other fun things for children that have to spend christmas in the hospital, getting enough shoe boxes is no biggie, and im sure i can get a few family and friends to help out but how can i get toy stores or other sores to donate things?|||A hold-up?of course duh! ====jk==== ok first of all just ask?|||You could type up a proposal or go and talk to the managers of the stores. Let them know what you are trying to do for the holidays and who its for and then you will just have to wait for there answers. But you wont ever know unless you try.|||Write letters to the stores. Or you can go into the stores and ask to speak with the managers. Have a letter or an outline about the project ready. Also, you might try hooking up with a local church or bank or place where people in the community can drop off donations. Be specific that you want new toys, etc.

Good luck! Sounds like a great idea!|||i would try to talk to store manager and tell him what your trying to do for the children in the hospital . and hopefully you will find a generous one that would help out.|||approach the store managers with a responsible adult who will vouch for what you are doing. Or maybe get your school principal to write letters for you.|||If you contact Toys for Tots - they get tractor trailer full of gifts that don't sell, and with proper authorization you can get all you need from them. Oh, but you won't get the Jesus dolls, they sent those back to the donator.

Wal-Mart has a policy which allows store managers to use their discretion and donate merchandise. Target does not allow store managers to do the same. Meijer's (if you're in the midwest) will also support charities.

One thing that you probably need to do, though, is get "proof" that you're legitimate, either from the hospital that you intend to do this with, and get a letter from them, perhaps listing the "types" of toys that can be allowed. You might want to try to figure out what age range you're going to shoot for, since you won't know who will be in the hospital until the day that you show up (children get admitted and discharged, and we try to send all but the absolute sickest children home for the holidays - because we are short on staff as well as to help the children's holidays).

Also be aware that there will be non-Christian children, so will this be for Hannukah, too? And what about Muslim and Hindu children? You don't want to offend them - so perhaps make it more of a "December solstice" type of gift.|||It's all about the publicity, stores want and need the free publicity, get your local radio/tv stations in on the action. Call in, explain what your doing, make your plea to your neighborhood for any help they can provide.

Business is business, bottom line if it won't make them money in the long run, you would be hard pressed to find a company that would want to lose money.|||Businesses love a tax write off, hospitals do too. i'd ask the hospital first. Call everybody (businesses) there are some that just want the write off and others really care. Since you'll be asking for merchandise instead of cash your chances are MUCH better. Make sure and tell them you're not after money. A retailer that could liquidate (at full retail price as a tax write off) would be stupid not to get rid of excess inventory of slow merchandise.

My mother used to do a little fund raising for my sister's high school band..businesses love giving merchandise. Even had a skating rink give away free skating passes.

MAKE sure and send some sort of certificate or plaque etc that they can exhibit in their stores...they will greatly appreciate it and remember you next year when you come calling again.|||Ask them. Write a letter or go in person. When I adopted my daughter from Brazil years ago, I went to various stores to get supplies for the orphanage (toothbrushes, toothpaste, band-aids, diapers, etc.). Most did not give outright, but they gave a hefty discount! Even if you can't get donations, discounts would probably help -- and you might get outright gifts, esp. if you offer to put a Christmas note with a list of donors in the box. The stores see it as publicity and you see it as free donations. :-)|||If you're in Australia and find any stores that will donate, please let me know.

Im doing the same thing by making Christmas gift bags for local disabled children and emailed big chain companies and I got one reply saying they wont bother donating samples as the 'amount' of gift bags im organising isnt enough to get their name out there, how pathetic! - its for a good cause and they just dont care.

some companies didnt even write back.

Hope you have better luck :)|||Write them a letter or ask them in person. Have lots of information and be upbeat, and positive.|||Very doubtful they would be interested in helping you out, toy stores are in business for profit, not losing sales. How old does a toy puppy have to be to go in heat?

I don't want her getting pregnant before I get her spayed. Christmas is expensive and she just turned six months old. I'm hoping to get her spayed in January. I never let her outside without me because she's the cutest and tiniest little toy fox terrier there is! I am worried about going for walks and encountering a male dog on the loose!|||around 6 months. same for any dog.|||You'll stillhave time, most dogs hit a heat around 7-8 mos. If you start noticing that her vulva starts to swell and bleed, don't take her out... she won't be accepting males until near the middle of her cycle (a cycle runs for about 3 weeks), but to be on the same side if you do notice her go into heat before you get her spayed, just don't take her out.|||Dogs go into their first heat cycle anywhere from 6 months to 12 months. Since you dog is a toy puppy then you should have no problem picking her up if a male comes around if she goes into heat. Besides that you should know when she goes into heat before she will be receptive to a male. Female dogs are usually receptive to the males after the "dripping stops", and usually only for a time period of up to 14 days after the bleeding stops. This would be the time to be very concerned if you do not want her to have pups. Other thatn that you should be fine till January.

How can we tell the difference between a Bichon and a Toy Poodle?

We have a toy poodle (we believe), however people are always telling us she looks like a Bichon. How do we confirm she is a poodle?|||Toy poodles have longer, thinner legs, a lighter body, and usually a shortened tail. There are also not often pure white poodles, mostly you see apricots and creams which will have darker points on their hair, whereas a Bichon should always be pure white.

You can also tell by face shape:

You can just see that the Bichon is a shorter, heavy-set dog (usually around 15lbs) compared to the tall, leggy, slender build of a poodle. Most people think ANY curly dog with a puffy non-shaved face looks like a Bichon. It's just lack of education.|||Do an online search for both breeds - bichons have much rounder heads than poodles, who have sharper muzzles too.

Poodles have tighter hair as well, there really is a big difference in looks unless you are talking about a young puppy, that would be the only time you could confuse a bichon with a poodle.|||Just look at the top of her haed and if its pointed then yep its a poodle but Bichons are a little bit heaver than a toy poodle and Bichons coat is more of an Afro than curly like a toy poodle.I really hope that helps your understanding or your dog.|||Go to www.akc.org and read the breed standards for each breed. However, without registration papers, you really can't confirm she's not a mix or something else other than what the breeder represented.|||Go to the AKC website and look at pictures of poodles and Bichons. What is the best toy that kept your newborn occupied the longest?

Which toy for up to 3-4 months was the best at keeping your baby entertained? Where did you get it and about how much did it cosst?|||The best toy for us was definitely our son's Baby Einstein Discover %26amp; Play Floor Mat. He could do both tummy time and lay on his back and look up at all the toys. There was a star in the middle that lit up and played music and he would just grin at it. He played on that at least once a day from 1 week old to 5 months old! Plus it got him used to tummy time and helped him learn to grab for things too. Ones with lights and sound tend to keep them occupied a little longer. Bright, colorful kinds with a variety of shapes can entertain a baby for a longer time too. Usually at 3-4 months babies don't do a lot of "play" activities, but some things work better than others. Who invented the first toy balloon in America?

who invented the first toy balloon in America? When, why, and how did this person discover it?|||this is al what i no hope it helps:]

The first rubber balloons were made by Professor Michael Faraday in 1824 for use in his experiments with hydrogen at the Royal Institution in London. `The caoutchouc is exceedingly elastic', he wrote in the Quarterly Journal of Science the same year. `Bags made of it...have been expanded by having air forced into them, until the caoutchouc was quite transparent, and when expanded by hydrogen they were so light as to form balloons with considerable ascending power....' Faraday made his balloons by cutting round two sheets of rubber laid together and pressing the edges together. The tacky rubber welded automatically, and the inside of the balloon was rubbed with flour to prevent the opposing surfaces joining together.

What kind of miniature/toy sized dog could I get in a no pets allowed apartment without being noticed?

I want a toy sized dog in my apartment and they are not allowed, what kind could I get that will not really be noticed or bark a lot so that I wont be kicked out!! Thankyou|||If dogs are not aloud in your apartment, I would highly advise you not to get one. Not for your own good, but for the good of the dog. It would not have a good life if it were constantly locked up because you couldn't risk it being seen. You need to keep in mind also, that there is a risk of him being found. If that is the case then you will have to choose most likely whether to get rid of the dog or move out. There are too many dogs already in shelters. If you are faced with that choice and have to surrender the dog, what will happen to it. If you are wanting a pet, maybe try a hamster, guinea pig, parakeet, or even a fish tank until you are in the position to provide a positive environment for a dog.|||Most small dogs bark LOTS!!!! I'd advise you to wait until you have appropriate accommodation before you get a dog. It's a big commitment and trying to hide that you have a dog will put both you and your pet under stress!|||None. If its not allowed its not allowed. If you break the rules and get caught what will happen to your dog? Owning a dog is a LIFETIME commitment, one to be take seriously. You need to provide shelter, food, shoots, time and stability. You risk these things if you get caught- you both will have to go, or you will be told you have to get rid of your dog, COMPLETELY unfair to the dog. Don't be so selfish- wait till you find a different place to live.|||i think no pets would mean no pets if you desperately want a pet move to somewhere you can have them|||While I can deeply sympathize with your want for a dog as a friend and companion I'd definitely advise against it.

I tried keeping a kitten in a no pets apartment. We got caught I was told the cat goes or we both do, I gave the cat to a childhood friend. She didn't understand that this cat had only been indoors. She let it out overnight and it was eaten by a coyote.

Instead of hunting for a dog start hunting for an affordable pet friendly apartment. Then go to the pound and get a dog that needs you.|||I live in an apartment too and I didn't want a small dog that barked a lot (or a yapper) that would disturb my neighbors, esp. when I was away or at work! I did a lot of research and came across 3-4 breeds that you might be interested in looking into. Most small dogs are yappers (they bark a lot) but the ones I'm going to tell you about are relatively quiet.

Japanese Chin

Bischon Frise

King Charles Spaniel

Papillon (some do bark a lot, but you can teach them not to)

I personally went with a Japanese Chin. I got her three weeks ago and couldn't be happier. Mine is 3 months old and weighs 2.5 lbs. There are two diff. weight classes for chins, the smaller ones (like mine) may take some effort to find, otherwise, the 'larger chins' most only get between 10-15 lbs which is still small! Mine is really quiet, she loves to give you kisses and curl up on the couch with you and watch a movie. It did take her about a week to adjust to a new home, me, etc. but any puppy goes through this. Just make sure you buy from a reputable breeder and try to get a health guarantee and take your pup to the vet to get checked out really good. Good luck to you!|||chiwawa|||The ones from Toys R Us..

i had three large dogs in a two bedroom appt when i was back and forth from my house in another country, they were a pleasure and barked very little because i set very clear rules and went out of my way to find excersize outlets off the property for them to spend time being dogs

i had to wake up at 5am to take them running even it bad weather, and spend time afterwork playing fetch and catch a squirrel even when i was tired, its a huge commitment having dogs in appartments and if you can convince your landlord to let you you still have alot of budens to overcome|||All dogs bark, most at every little sound. I would not risk your living arrangements by getting a dog your not allowed to have. Even a paper trained dog needs to go out sometimes for fun and exercise so it will be seen. But the most important thing is the noise, they do , will and can bark. Maybe others have breed suggestions that bark less but I can definetly say not to get a Chihuahua , I have one that I love dearly but he barks at voices outside, he barks at dogs on tv, he barks at doorbells on tv, he barks at pagers on tv... well you get the picture. He barks. alot|||Great...another dog will be headed for the pound because you don't follow the rules.

Grow up. Life is full of rules and you need to pay attention when you sign on the dotted line.|||A fluffy cuddly soft toy one is probably best in this case.|||I understand if this will get me thumbs-downed, but I have to say that maybe you should reconsider and wait until you are in a place that allows dogs.

The reason I say that is because a) all dogs bark and b) all dogs need to go outside -- not just for a quick two-minute potty, but also to romp and play and bark at birds and dig holes you don't want them to dig and paw at worms and chase butterflies and run around for no reason. You get what I'm saying -- it's not fair to a dog to keep him couped up and hidden all the time.

I mean, I wish you luck and everything. But really think hard about how practical it is to keep a dog hidden. It's much easier to hide a cat!|||One that you see while your not at home in your apartment. You can always do some volunteer work with dogs, or even some part time work that involves dogs to satisfy your current desire. But the reality is, that if you sneak a dog into a building that does not allow dogs sooner or later you will most likely have a problem. Dogs bark, they go to the bathroom a lot before you clean up there is an odor, all these things will lead to the dog's discovery eventually. When the dog is discovered you will have a big problem. But what is even worse than that, is that the puppy you bought could have found a permanent home where it was allowed to live while it was a puppy. The truth is that most people want puppies, and it is not fair to the puppy to only offer it a home that is uncertain whether it can stay for life. That puppy will grow into an adult and at some point need to find a permanent home or face euthanasia. As a puppy it is far, far more likely to find a secure permanent home as a puppy rather than an adult.|||Definitely NOT a maltese terrier, although I have never owned one they have been voted the most 'barkiest' of the small breeds.|||Maybe a tee cup something or other. Most places ask for a pet deposit. They don't get much bigger then you hand. If you do get one, just don't suck it up in you vacum cleaner like I had a friend do. No it didn't die. How to train my toy poodle to stay in the basket while i cycle?

I got a 4 months old puppy.

I cycle a lot and would like to bring my toy poodle with me.

But she doesn't stay in the basket, she wants to jump out always.

I understand she's afraid, so I tried giving her treats while she's inside but she's still scared and always want to jump out.

Any advice on how to keep her in the basket without trying to jump out?

The basket is big enough for her to lie down, sit and turn around.

Thank you in advance!|||Just go with the basics. It worked for me and my dog and find it pretty useful.

In here are some pointers in teaching basic commands, http://miniurl.com/28505|||Place a bed or something comfy in there. Practice with the basket when it's not attached to the bike. While its on the floor, place her in it, give her a treat when she's still in it. Only treat/praise when she's in it and still. In between basket training, teach her what "stay", "sit" and "down" are. Gradually, as she gets older and better at commands, put her in a down/stay and praise! :) Get a harness (adjustable, since she'll grow more) and attach her to the basket with a very short leash (basically a handle with a clip on it).|||Attach a leash to her harness. How to get the pee smell out of a toy that cannot be washed?

My almost three year old got in her toy box after my second daughter was born and went potty on her toys for attention. or pet odor remover for carpet that has enzymes to remove smell

febreeze it????|||Is this a plush toy or a hard plastic toy? If it is a plush toy then hand scrub it with soap and water being careful of the electronic parts and then set it outside in the sun to dry. The sun will likely bleach out the color a bit but it will also probably clear up the smell a lot. It probably won't ever be the same, but you will have salvaged it.

If it's hard plastic then the smell is probably stuck in some little crevice somewhere. I'd take it apart as much as possible and wipe it down with cleanser.

Good luck - I understand not wanting to part with the toy. My father passed away when my daughter was a little over a year (about 1 1/2 years ago) and I would keep on trying to salvage some toy that he bought her too. |||There's a product called 'urine gone' that I've used to get pee smell out of mattresses (I used to work in a nursing home) and it worked pretty well. I've also used it for pet stains on carpet.|||Is there a way to remove something like an electronic box that might be inside, wash the toy, and then put the box back in?

Another approach may be to carefully use a mild detergent (like Ivory liquid, which was at one time, I believe, approved for use on baby items) and work up a lather, wash the item with something like strong paper towels or clean sponges - and then use damp towels or sponges to remove the suds. It can require care, but if you do something like that you can usually get it mostly clean.

How to determine if the poodle puppy will grow up to toy poodle size?

I am planning to buy a non registered toy poodle puppy. I am afraid that I might be cheated by the breeder by giving me a miniature poodle puppy. So is there any way to know which type of poodle the puppy will be?|||hmmm..i had that same prob. they said my dog was a full breed toy poodle, but he grew wayy to big. the only way to really tell is by watching its growth rate. if by 6 months it is more than 10 lbs,u know it is not a toy. toy poodles are supposed to be between 5-8 lbs when they are full grown. even if it isnt a toy poodle, you should still love it and care for it the same way that you would if it were.

How do dogs know when they got a new toy/treat?

Before it's even out of the store bag, how is it possible? These past 2 weeks I have brought bags home with a toy or 2 in it.. The dogs will smell it and start going nuts! Wagging their tail, barking at me to "hurry up" and an occasional cry of joy. Same thing with treat bags. Btw, I only buy them toys once a month or so.

How do the dogs know that the thing in the bag is their new toy? Do your dogs do this?|||Most dogs are smart, and they can smell the new toy. It is like when you go look at a brand new car, and you open the door for the first time, and smell the leather inside.

If you go to a "petstore" like one of those places at the mall that has tons of "purebred" puppies in those glassed in 4ft by 2ft window-boxes, I would estimate $300 to $700. What is the best toy race car track for a teenager?

I am a female and my male cousin told me he wanted this for Christmas. He has video games, but he said that he remembered playing with one when he was younger and he stated that it was actually more fun than video games. He is 13. There are so many to choose from in stores and onlne. I don't really know what to look for. I don't want to spend a lot of money and the toy not be worth it. I always had what they call the "HO" scale racing sets. They're small but really good for limited space. I still have some of the racetrack from when I was a kid and a few weeks ago I got it out and played it with my 4 year old girl. She loved it.

Life-Like racing also makes racing sets and their cars are fantastic. They go super fast without falling off the track. Maybe Tyco and AFX cars are better than they used to be. I'm not sure.

There are other companies who make larger slot car tracks like the 1/32 scale but to me it would take up too much room unless you have a really big place.

So, if it was me I would probably look for a "HO" scale racetrack from Life-Like Racing or AFX. I'm not sure if Tyco is still making them. Later, if your cousin wants some different cars he can go out and buy those separately. As long as they are "HO" scale they will work on any track no matter what brand it is.

What safety factors need to be considered when making a soft toy?

I wanna know what materials are best to be used when making a soft toy.

list of materials and what makes it a safety fire hazard?

less easy to burn?|||soft toys for children must be made of all new materials. If for sale. Most readily available fabrics are tested for their fire hazard levels. Fire retardent treatments in fabrics can cause other problems. Allergens, toxins etc.

Polyester melts, cotton burns with a low flame and low heat. Both good.

Never use pins without counting them so you know none are left in the toy. Make sure any buttons or embellishments are secured with linen button twist threads and follow manufacturers instructions on purchased joints and eyes. Any hair or yarn wigs should be secured carefully and for a young child, individually hand knotted yarn strand hair is safest to prevent choking. Polyester fibrefil is a good washable stuffing. So is laundered and shredded used stockings.
