How much does a toy poodle cost at a store?

How much does a young black toy poodle cost at a store? Like Petsmart, etc.|||To get a guaranteed healthy puppy, you would be better sourcing a registered breeder. There you will see at least one of the parents and you should be offered full back-up with the puppys upbringing.|||Petsmart doesn't sell puppies. Petsmart, Petco, and other chain pet stores usually have a partnership with local dog rescues. The dog rescues will occasionally bring dogs for adoption to the store for people to meet and maybe consider adopting. There may be a toy poodle for adoption there, the price would only be a small adoption fee.|||they dont sell dogs|||Petsmart doesn't sell pups - they hold adoption days for local shelters though. Most store pups will be in the high price range - about a grand or so. But please don't buy one from a store!

Pet stores get their pups from local back yard breeders or puppy mills. Both situations mean the pup is poorly bred - parents weren't tested for genetic illness, parents/pups kept in poor conditions, and so on.

Check out some of the links on that page.|||Toys normally cost any where from $6.99 - $29.99 depending on the store and size (KMart, Wal Mart, Target, etc...)|||Well, petco, and petsmart, don't sell dogs, and most of the dogs that you would get at a pet store come from puppy mills, and BYB ( back yard breeders ) so, just go to a shelter. It has more benifits, like cheaper, and you'll know youre saving a life.|||Please do not buy any pet from a petstore, some of them are getting their dogs, cats, and other pets from mills. If you don't beleive me get online and check. Go to petfinder.com and search there for your pet or in your local paper. If it is local you can at least go and check out the breeder to make sure they come from healthy parents. Please be careful and make the right choice.|||I am not sure about pet stores but they are 250.00-300.00 in my area in the paper|||Petsmart does not sell dogs. Petsmart and similar stores work with local adoption agencies (like Max Fund, Humane Society, etc) to bring the dogs out where people will see them and hopefully adopt them. Adoption fees will range from $25 to $400 all things considered, but most often are $75 to $150.

If you go to a "petstore" like one of those places at the mall that has tons of "purebred" puppies in those glassed in 4ft by 2ft window-boxes, I would estimate $300 to $700. Plus, it most likely came from a puppy mill and is unhealthy. In addition to poor care and nutrition, the pups are routinely sedated in those shops to make them calmer and more enticing for purchase.|||buy one of a reputable breeder or go to a shelter|||Please under stand 2 things.

1.Buying dogs from petstores come from puppy mills. What are puppy mills? http://stoppuppymills.org/ Puppy mills are run by people who know nothing about dogs and pump babies out of the mothers. As soon as a litter of puppies are born, she is bred again. They breed mutts that are ill bred and the pupies also have health problems.

2. There is no such thing as a "toy or tea cup" dog. They are just small dogs, bred off the runts for generations. These dogs always have multiple health problems.

Buying "toy" dogs from pet stores only encourage cruelty. Please adopt a dog from a shelter. You can locate one using this:http://www.petfinder.com/

This is probably not what you want to hear, but you need to be informed. Please make the mature descion of adopting. Best of luck.|||Since the only kind of puppies you should EVER buy at a store are stuffed, I'd say about $14.99. PetsMart sometimes has puppies from local shelters that can be adopted, but they never sell puppies.

To find a local shelter go to http://www.petfinder.com/

The best place to buy purebred puppies, if you want a healthy, well-bred, well socialized puppy, is from a reputable breeder.

Here is a link to the national poodle club where you can learn more about poodles and find a breeder near you.

EDIT Chrisatian clearly doesn't know much about Poodles - of course there are Toy Poodles. Poodles come in Standard, Mini and Toy,|||Petsmart doesn't sell dogs- they have shelters keep cats there and sometimes bring dogs and cats down on weekends, however they don't sell dogs or cats.

Adopt an animal, don't buy one from a pet store- search for "puppy mills" on google. That's where dogs from pet stores come from and it's cruel and wrong. Puppy mills are horrible places- the dog's don't get enough exercise, they have too many health problems to count, etc. Adopt, don't EVER buy from a pet store.|||do not purchase from there.. evil store..

and they are extremely expensive can go up to the $2000 range
