How do I stop my toy poodle from taking the stuff out of my plants and the bulb off the tree . What's wrong?

MY Toy poodle is starting tom pull the stuff out of my plants and the he pulled a Christmas bulb off the tree. Why is he being so beligerate? I take care of him well!!!|||He's just being a dog. Just make sure there are no poisonous or dangerous items around, and give him plenty of toys.|||you cant hes a pupp they do what they want, they dont understand, but try smacking it gently every time he goes near it he will lern not to|||You may want to try a sure favorite if the Dog Whisperer.





Put the leash on your dog - and walk him over to the tree. When he goes for something - yank him away, and say no.





Repeat.





The dog will get the idea...





then make sure to give the dog lots of love.|||I would not recomend smacking your dog. But everytime he does something you dont like, tell the dog firmly "no" or "bad dog" and squirt him with a spray bottle. If your dog doesnt like water it wont take too many times before he stops. You could then put him in his cage or outside to show him that its bad and you arnt happy. Also try positive reinforcement, when he plays with something you approve of or goes by the plant and does nothing praise him.





He will get it soon enough, just be persistant and dont ever let him tear up the plant and do nothing about it. He will think its ok sometimes and not ok other times.|||I have a gate around my tree! My dog actually ate one of the lights off the pre lit tree....So I put a gate up and now he can't get to it!|||I would not recommend ever smacking a dog either, no matter how lightly. This will cause them to dislike you and could result in even more inappropriate behaviors. Also would not recommend jerking it on a leash. You could hurt it's neck. It seems like he is just trying to play. When he does play with something appropriate, be sure to praise him a lot and give treats. Tell him no very loudly and clap your hands when he is doing something you don't want him to. The loud clap will interrupt his undesirable behavior.|||Most dogs get destructive if they don't have enough mental stimulation. They are like kids in that they have a short attention span but love to play,chew and get into all the things there not suppose to. Find ways of keeping him occupied and if he still persists rep remand him with your voice (don't shout deepen your voice and make it firm). If a dog cares about what you think he will do all in his power to earn your praise. Dogs will seek attention, like kids they will do good or bad things if that's what gains them your attention.
