He is 2 months old and loves to chew and bite. As we teach him boundaries, he still needs something to chew. We've got his rope toy, doggie butterfly stuffed animal, and a couple other plastic toys. Any suggestions? We don't know if there is a bone or other type of toy to keep him busy.|||I always get my puppies hard bones to chew so that they wear down those sharp little puppy teeth. Be sure to get one that won't splinter as he chews on it and no rawhide, hooves or pigs ears. I've heard stories of puppies dying because they bits of these things stuck in their digestive tract. Pet shops sell real bones that have been prepared specially for dogs to chew on.|||The Kong is great! It's fun to chew on by itself, or you can stuff treats inside and let them have at it. It will keep him occupied for a while. You can also put it in the freezer to help soothe their gums. My dogs also enjoy toys with squeekers in them. They will literally spend hours trying to get the squeek part out of the toy.|||Anything by Nylabone is the best.
They don't splinter and wont leave a mess.
Also it's good because they won't splinter your dogs throat.
Never give your dog cheap chewies... I have 4 dogs and learned my lesson with the first one. He had to be rushed to the vet for stitches in his mouth because his chewie splintered and cut the roof of his mouth and his throat.|||As a treat we would freeze carrots and give them to our puppies when there were teething. The cold feels good on their teeth as well as the texture of the carrots. We would use the lil baby ones. They loved them. We still give them one every noght before bedtime. Just a thought.|||My boy loves Flossies (a dried beef tendon) and the Bully stick. Both keep him very busy and are completely digestible.
Also carrots, ice cubes, the kong stuffed with treats.|||Hi
