What is the difference between a toy and miniature dog?

Also, roughly how big will it be and how many pounds would a shih poo be if the dad is a pure toy shihtzu and the mom is half shihtzu and half poodle.|||there's no such thing as a "toy" shih tzu. Shuh Tzu come in ONE size only





Poodles come in 3 sizes, toy, mini and standard. With poodles, toys are 10 inches or less, minis are 10-15 inches, and standards are anything over 15 inches. Very few breeds come in toy or mini versions, and even less have both of those sizes!





There's no way to know how big a mixed breed dog will be.. it could be the size of a shih tzu, the size of the poodle (depending on what size poodles are in the pedigree) or any size in between.|||In breeds where the term applies - Toy is smaller than Miniature.





It's hard to predict any outcome of a mutt. Mutts do not have predictable traits, you are going to have to look at the sizes of both parents before hand.





Also, there is no such thing as a toy shih tzu|||No one can really give you an answer. It would depend on what is in the lineage of the shih Tzu and the poodle.FYI, no such thing as a toy shih tzu, just under sized shih tzu.|||Toy is way smaller than miniture.
