What happens if a toy poddle eats to much sugar?

My toy puddle just ate about five chinese sugar doughnuts and is now whinning a lot. Her belly feels hard, she ate them about 30 mins ago while i was in the shower. Will she be okay? I'm waiting for a call back from the vet but sometimes it takes them a while to call back, any suggestions to make her feel better in the mean time?|||she could have food bloat. i would take her to the vet asap. better safe than sorry.|||Thanks to everyone for the input. What happened was my fault, I know, for leaving food out but she had never been able to get to the table before. I've learned my lesson! What ended up working, per the vet, was giving her a tablespoon of peroxide, it made her throw everything up within minutes.

|||One time my dog ate something he shouldn't have. If you mix a little mustard (the spice, not the condiment) in water and make her drink it, it will make her puke. I offer that advice lightly because it could backfire. When I gave it to my dog, he puked and then was fine (he's a miniature poodle). Ask your vet about that (there might also be an emergency vet...you could call them if your vet isn't in).|||She may just have over eaten. But keep trying to get the vet or some other animal hospital. Make sure she has water and try to make her rest awhile until her belly loses its hardness or you get in touch with a vet.





And not to yell at you but from now on make sure you keep stuff out of her reach I have a toy poodle too and I know how they can get into everything but if you store stuff high enough they`ll keep out of it.





I use to work in a grooming shop, we heard a lot of weard thing,s. One time a lady,s dog ate a shower curtian now that was serious she had to get a vet, the dog needed surgery. Your dog,s problem is not that serious. It would be like if you eat to much on the holiday,s how do you feel? If you have a hot water bottle feel it with hot water and let her lay on it.After a while when she start to digest it she will be ok.She probably need,s to do number two. But if you would feel better calling the vet go ahead it don,t hurt to.|||You really shouldn't have left them lying around and let her eat that in the first place. You should continue trying to contact the vet and if it takes too long for them to contact you back then you should find an animal hospital or something that you can take her to straight away. Meanwhile just make sure she has fresh, clean water available.|||hmmm she might get really hyper...j/k


i would take he/she to the vet ....NOW!!!!|||why did you let her eat that crap? sugar is bad for dogs. so you were in the shower, put it up next time. yes, her tummy hurts, so wait for the vet. give her a tiny bit of pepto-bismal. like a teaspoon, but not as much.|||I don't know what chinese sugar donuts are.. But if her stomach is hard and she is whining.. She will either puke it all up in the middle of the carpet, or she'll need to see the vet.|||How much does she weigh?





You can probably give her about 1/2 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide and she'll vomit them up in about 10 minutes.





I'd wait a few more minutes and see if the vet calls back first. But if not, try the peroxide.





No more water - that will make the donuts swell and her belly get larger.
