How old are toy poodles when they start mating other dogs?

I really need to know because my toy poodle is always hanging around male dogs. She's 13 months old. Is she old enough to have puppies?|||Yes, any age after first heat,at about 6mo on,but SPAY her as soon as possible,healthy for herr,you won't lose her if she has puppies from a larger breed it could kill your dog,and let's face it too many dogs without hones out there. A good breeder health test dogs and breeds only for show not to make a buck.She will not get uterine Cancer if spayed also,boy dogs get neutered just in case the male dogs around the home need that info as they can get testicular cancer.|||Spay her are your worries will be over.|||Get her spayed. Much like a 12 year old girl could theoretically have a child, it would most likely cause damage.





And toy poodles are not runts. They are a registered breed. It's teacup that is a runt.|||She is old enough to mate, get her spade. To the person that toys shouldn't breed...where did you get your AKC registration? My toy was AKC registered and was bred with toys that were show quality. I will also add with excellent blood lines.|||Yes, she is old enough, but dogs won't usually mate unless the female is actually in heat because the female can't get pregnant unless she is. Dogs of all breeds usually have their first heat around 6-8 months old.|||She is not old enough and not mature enough to have puppies. Keep her away from the male. Make an appointment to have her spayed. You could kill your dog breeding her so young. Don't let it happen.





Poodles don't just start to breed at a certain age. Responsible people who know what they are doing, do health testing, temperament testing and know what breeding all about, wait til the dogs are at least 2 years of age.

Do you realize how much time and effort it takes to have a litter of pups? Much less a mutt litter or one that might need an emergency C-Section?





Spay her now and quit playing GOD with your dog's life!
